So it seems Jillian shot off her mouth with out knowing what the hell she’s talking about.

If you know anything about me, which chances are you don’t, but I’m seriously passionate about kettlebells.  The problem is, now that they are getting more popular (don’t get me wrong, this is good, but…) every “trainer” thinks they know how to teach kettlebell exercises correctly.

WRONG!!!

I tried to find a video clip of the show but turned up short, but what I can show you is what a proper swing looks like.

If you saw the episode of The Biggest Loser you would have seen Jillian basically do a squat and a front delt raise…WTF…come on.

If you lift the bell, how can you call it a swing?

The Kettlebell isn’t even swinging.

My suggestion to Jillian and The Biggest Loser producers is to keep you pie-hole shut about things you don’t know about.

If you want to learn the correct, safe way to use kettlebells DO NOT emulate what you saw on The Biggest Loser.  If you choose the follow Jillian’s advice make sure your insurance is paid to take care of your potential hospital visit.

To learn Kettlebells correctly seek out an RKC Certified Instructor in your area.  In Frisco, that’s either me or my wife Kori…we are actually RKC Level 2 Instructors, the only in the area.  I’m not saying this to toot my own horn, I’m telling you this to lend credibility to this little rant I’m going off on.

We often hold Kettlebell Workshops and are available for private kettle bell lessons as well if you don’t like the group thing.

I you happen to cross our blog and are not in the Frisco area check out DragonDoor.com (you can also buy kettlebells here) for an instructor in your area.

I mentioned earlier I can show you how to do a kettlebell swing correctly, here’s a video of Mrs. Frisco 2009 Jennifer Johnson doing a damn good swing.
